What is Sandtray Therapy

If you have tried traditional talk therapies and feel that you are still not where you would like to be in your life, Sandtray Therapy may work for you.

Both children and adults can benefit from the therapeutic method of what is called Sandtray therapy. Many different cultures throughout history have used sand as a medium to bring out the natural healing powers within each of us. Rituals among cultures such as Tibetan Buddhist Monks and Navaho Indians have used sand to open the unconscious world to help find the peace within them. It can help to find why you continue to follow the same path and unable to make those changes you desperately want in life.

The Sand Tray room

  • The Sandtray provides a deeper experience for the client than traditional talk therapy can provide.
  • The Sandtray provides a visual representation of the issues which help client’s focus on core issues.
  • The Sandtray provides a structured environment in which the client can create and explore their sub consciousness.
  • The Sandtray  can help clients work through their natural defenses in a non-confrontational way providing a better sense of security.  This sense of security is needed to build a working relationship and work toward learning to overcome issues.
